Here's the two designs with finishing effects, along with a few closeups. The outer type, grey background, and basic badge are identical; the type is now shiny metal and the grey area has a stretched fabric texture. We've added a thin gold ring around the grey, which accents nicely with the heavier gold badge trim. The lighter blue in the badge also has the fabric texture.
The badge lettering continues the shiny metal in both designs. In the "Patch" graphic, we've added shadows and emboss where appropriate. In the "PAPD37" design, we've added a thin gold border to the flag and the "37". The flag has a more pronounced drop shadow which help bring it to the forefront.
